In my practice, I use an acceptance-based, cognitive-behavioral approach called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is primarily geared toward helping us become better at living full, rich, and meaningful lives. My work with clients typically focuses on the acceptance of themselves and others with compassion, identifying what they want their lives to be about, and making commitments to act in accordance with these chosen life directions.
ACT's philosophy is similar to the serenity creed - "Accept with serenity what you cannot change, have courage to change what you can, and develop wisdom to know the difference." Together, we will put this into action by identifying what is changeable, workable, and desirable in your life.”
